Resin and Mixed Media
Cradled Birch Panel
Sapphire Cathedral is a fun and interesting take on cathedral style geodes because there is no actual sapphire cathedral in real life. This is a very interesting because the popular citrine cathedrals most times are created by heat treating purple amethyst or smokey-quartz. This means that alot of the time the citrine cathedrals are being 'man made' as well. Or at least man altered. So as an artist to play with this concept and create the Sapphire Cathedral has been fun and also rewarding.
Like most works this piece features iridescent qualities and a beautiful coat of Art Resin.
